MultiMac Privacy Policy

Connections and shared content

MultiMac connects Macs that you explicitly pair using a code. Device discovery uses the local network and announces device identity and connection information. Pairing records, device preferences and workspace layout are stored on your Mac.

Keyboard and pointer events, clipboard text and images, files and screen or app-window content are sent directly to paired Macs over encrypted connections when the corresponding sharing features are enabled. This content is not routed through a NovaSynapse cloud relay. Only pair Macs and grant access to people you trust.

macOS permissions and your controls

Accessibility enables remote keyboard and pointer control. Screen Recording enables sharing screens or selected windows. Local Network supports discovery and connections. Optional Bluetooth proximity helps automatic screen sharing decide whether paired Macs are nearby. Finder automation is used for explicitly requested file paste operations.

You can change sharing permissions separately for each Mac, stop sharing or remove a pairing. macOS permissions can be revoked in System Settings. Revoking access does not delete content already received by another Mac.

Trial, purchases and updates

The 30-day trial is maintained locally. Purchasing or activating Premium uses NovaSynapse online services and a payment provider. Activation sends the license key and an installation/device identifier; the app stores the signed license locally. Payment details are handled by the checkout provider, not by MultiMac.

Update checks contact the NovaSynapse release service through Sparkle. Web services receive ordinary request information such as IP address and app version. Website and payment processing are also covered by the general privacy policy.

Optional diagnostics

Diagnostics are off unless enabled. A diagnostic session expires after 30 minutes. It records technical connection, permission, timing and error information, not screenshots, clipboard payloads or typed text. If you select paired Macs for diagnostics, their technical reports are collected on the controlling Mac. Reports are not automatically uploaded to support; review them before sharing.

Retention and removal

Local preferences, pairing records, trial and license state and diagnostic files can remain after uninstalling the app. Remove them from the app's Application Support folder when no longer needed. Unpair devices and revoke macOS permissions before transferring a Mac to someone else. Purchase and license records are managed by the online service under its general privacy policy.
