Overview

The following product-specific terms govern the use of the native Scroll Brake iOS application and the Scroll Brake Google Chrome browser extension. General statements elsewhere regarding web tracking and advertising do not apply to these tools.

Scroll Brake for iOS

The Scroll Brake iOS application is designed with strict privacy in mind:

• No Data Collection and No Analytics: The Scroll Brake application does not collect, track, or record any of your Personal Data, Usage Data, or any other information. The application does not use any third-party analytics tools, trackers, or crash reporting systems.
• No Data Transmission: The application does not transmit any data to our servers, third-party services, or any external entities.
• Local Storage Only: All data generated or used by the application (such as local settings or preferences) remains exclusively and securely on your device.

Scroll Brake for Chrome

The Scroll Brake browser extension is built on a foundational commitment to user privacy and digital sovereignty:

• Zero Data Collection and No Analytics: Scroll Brake does not collect, transmit, sell, or monetize any personal information or browsing history. The extension does not run any remote analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry, nor does it operate external tracking servers or third-party advertising scripts. All operations run 100% locally within your browser.
• Exclusively Local Storage: All user-configured blocking rules (blocked domains and URL patterns, custom session durations, daily solve quotas) and session counters (solved math challenges, remaining active timer durations, activity timestamps for midnight resets) are processed and saved strictly on your local device in chrome.storage.local. None of this information ever leaves your device, and it is permanently deleted if you uninstall the extension or clear browser data.
• No Browsing History or Content Inspection: Although the extension requests tabs and Host Permissions (<all_urls>), these are strictly used to determine if an active tab matches your configured blocking rules and to inject the cognitive barrier overlay and active timer widget. Scroll Brake never reads, inspects, logs, or transmits web page content, form inputs, or browsing history from unblocked sites.
• Single-Purpose Compliance and No Remote Code: All requested permissions (storage, tabs, alarms, host permissions) are strictly tied to the single purpose of curbing digital distractions through intentional cognitive friction and active-time tracking. The extension does not integrate with external APIs or load remote scripts, CDNs, or external stylesheets; all code and assets are bundled locally.
• Chrome Web Store Policy Compliance: Scroll Brake strictly complies with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies, including the User Data Policy and Limited Use requirements. We never sell user data, nor do we transfer data for personalized advertising, creditworthiness evaluation, or lending purposes.
