Privacy Policy: Sayp

Overview

Sayp requires no registration, operates without user accounts, and contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or telemetry systems. We do not operate servers collecting your voice recordings, personal notes, or user profiles. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Voice Input and Speech Recognition

Microphone access is requested strictly to capture audio when you actively initiate a recording via the in-app record button, Action Button, Control Center widget, Lock Screen control, or Siri Shortcut.

• On-Device Speech Processing: Where supported by iOS and your downloaded language packages, speech recognition is executed locally on your iPhone using Apple's Neural Engine. When an offline model is not available for a requested language, transcription is handled securely through Apple's native Speech framework under Apple's standard Privacy Policy.
• Zero Permanent Audio Storage: Sayp does not archive, collect, or store your raw voice recordings on external servers. Audio streams are captured solely to generate text and are discarded immediately after processing.
• System Microphone Permissions: Microphone access is entirely under your control. You can grant, review, or revoke permission at any time in iOS Settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone → Sayp).

AI Text Structuring and Directives

When you use Sayp to clean up filler words, format summaries, translate speech, or apply voice directives (such as polite corporate tone or concise bullet points):

• Transcribed text is transmitted to our processing endpoint over encrypted TLS connections solely to perform the requested text transformation.
• Text requests are processed statelessly in-memory and are never permanently stored, logged for profiling, or used to train artificial intelligence models.
• Communication with our backend is authenticated anonymously using Apple's hardware DeviceCheck and App Attest framework (DCAppAttestService), protecting the service without requiring user accounts, email addresses, or personal credentials.

Local Storage and App Group

Your transcription history, custom presets, and app preferences remain exclusively on your device within the sandboxed App Group container (group.com.novasynapse.sayp).

• Widget & Control Center Synchronization: The App Group allows the main application, the Control Center widget (saypControls), and Dynamic Island Live Activities to communicate recording states locally without network traffic.
• Clipboard Management: Transcribed and structured text is copied to your iOS system clipboard solely upon active session completion or when you tap the copy button.
• Local Data Control: You can view, search, and delete individual recordings or clear your entire local archive at any time in Settings.

Subscriptions and Purchases

All in-app purchases and subscriptions are handled directly by Apple through StoreKit 2.

• Sayp never receives, collects, or stores payment details, credit card numbers, or billing addresses.
• Subscription status is verified locally on-device through cryptographically signed App Store transaction receipts.
• You can manage, modify, or cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings.

Data Deletion

You can permanently remove all stored recordings and reset application settings at any time by selecting "Clear All Records" in Sayp Settings. Deleting the application from your device permanently removes all data in the App Group container.

Scope

This policy applies exclusively to the native Sayp application for iOS and its system extensions. General website terms regarding web analytics or cookies do not apply to the native application.
