Traditional voice note apps (like Otter or Voicenotes) force you to open their app, record, wait, manually copy text, switch back to Telegram or Slack, and paste. Sayp eliminates 100% of this friction: you launch recording in one tap via Action Button or Control Center from inside any app. Sayp automatically strips filler words, polishes grammar, adapts the tone (e.g. polite corporate or concise bullets), and auto-copies the clean text ready to paste immediately at your cursor.

Yes! Sayp is built natively with modern iOS system extensions. You can trigger voice capture using the hardware Action Button (iPhone 15 Pro, 16 and later), Back Tap (double-tap on the back of any iPhone), the Control Center quick capture widget, Lock Screen widget, or Siri Shortcuts. You stay right inside your active conversation, email, or document.

Voice Directives allow you to steer how your speech is structured simply by speaking naturally. For example, say "in a polite corporate tone" or "summarize this in 3 bullets" at the beginning or end of your voice stream. Sayp's intelligent formatting engine recognizes the directive, applies the requested tone transformation, and strips the command phrase from the final polished output.

Never. Sayp adheres to strict privacy-first principles. Your microphone captures speech solely during active recording sessions. Where supported by iOS and your downloaded language packages, speech recognition runs completely on-device via Apple's Neural Engine. Raw audio buffers are processed in-memory and discarded immediately after transcription. No audio files are ever stored on our servers.

No account, email, or password is required. Sayp uses Apple's hardware DeviceCheck and App Attest framework (DCAppAttestService) to authenticate genuine app sessions anonymously. All your notes, history, and preferences remain local on your iPhone inside a sandboxed App Group container.

Sayp supports transcription and bilateral translation across more than 50 languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese. You can speak freely in your native language, and Sayp will transcribe it cleanly or translate it into fluent business English on the fly.

Silence Auto-Stop automatically detects when you finish speaking. Once a pause in speech is detected (customizable to 5, 10, or 20 seconds), Sayp automatically finalizes the recording and formats the text without requiring you to manually touch the screen or press Stop — perfect when your hands are busy while walking, cooking, or driving.
