This privacy policy specifically governs the use of Grenny (mobile). For general corporate terms, GDPR/CCPA data protection rights, and website policies, please refer to our NovaSynapse Master Privacy Policy.

Your plant collection

Grenny stores plant names, care settings, care history, notes, selected photos and application preferences on your iPhone. The app does not require a Grenny account. Manual entry and saved local care can be used without sending photos for AI analysis.

If you enable iCloud synchronization, your collection and photos are transmitted to Apple's CloudKit service under your Apple Account. Apple operates this service under its own privacy terms. The Home Screen widget uses the app's shared local storage to show care information and record the actions you choose.

Optional Grenny AI

Only after you confirm an AI request, the selected plant photo and the relevant request context, such as the requested language, are sent to NovaSynapse's API and Google Gemini to suggest identification and care guidance. Any details visible in the image may be included. Choose plant-only images and avoid faces, documents, addresses and other personal information.

The AI service also processes technical request and security information, including network information and Apple App Attest proofs, to authenticate requests, operate the service and prevent abuse. Requests and AI responses may appear in server operational or diagnostic records. Deleting a plant on the phone does not by itself delete records already held by the AI service or its providers. Do not assume that AI uploads disappear immediately after a response.

AI suggestions are shown for your review before they become part of your local collection. Choosing manual entry avoids this AI photo transfer. Google processes submitted material under the terms applicable to the configured Gemini service.

Permissions and purchases

Camera, photo selection and notification permissions are requested when relevant. Notifications are scheduled locally using your care preferences. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

Apple processes purchases and payment details. Grenny uses StoreKit transaction information to determine collection access and restore purchases; the app does not receive your payment-card number.

Your controls

You can edit or delete plants and journal entries, turn reminders or optional iCloud sync off, and manage purchases through your Apple Account. Turning sync off does not automatically erase records already stored in iCloud. Uninstalling the app is not a request to erase server records or Apple-held data. Contact support for assistance with data requests; include only the information needed to locate the request, not unnecessary personal photos.

TestFlight

During beta testing, Apple provides TestFlight services, crash information and feedback under Apple's own terms. Information and screenshots you choose to include in feedback are made available to the developer. Avoid sensitive information in feedback attachments.

Policy updates

The published policy will identify its effective date and any material changes to the data flow.
